Before Limbe, Malawi Campus began, there was a group of about 20 people meeting in homes for prayer. They were hungry to learn more about God. Mavuto Chiwale was in the United States working on his Master’s Degree in Education from Lakeland University in Wisconsin.
In December of 2015, Mavuto was enjoying a Christmas parade in Sheboygan Falls, WI when he was handed an invitation to visit Pentecostals of Sheboygan County. He decided to visit and sent an email to the church for a ride. He came, made some friends, and started a Bible study with Mike & Cheryl Budworth.
It became very clear to Mavuto that this is what he, his family and the prayer group back in Malawi were hungry for. He was communicating with family and friends back home what he was learning. Soon he was baptized in Jesus Name and received the Holy Ghost!
Mavuto graduated from Lakeland and then returned to Limbe, Malawi equipped with a new revelation and a desire to see God do great things in the people of Malawi.
Since then, God has given great increase and blessing to their group. Chancy Lungu has since graduated from the UPCI Pentecostal Life Bible College in Malawi and has become the group’s pastor. They have since baptized over 45 people in Jesus Name and at least 25 have received the gift of the Holy Ghost!
Pentecostals of Sheboygan County has become their adopted family in the United States, providing Bibles in the Chichewa language, Bible study materials, Sunday school materials, and financial support. God has begun a good work that has traveled across the world. It does not matter the color of your skin or your cultural and ethnic background. God wants to see every soul saved.
